Phones smash, batteries die when it gets freezing, and standard paper maps turn to absolute mush the second it starts raining. This pocket guide is built to be proper trail insurance. It needs zero signal, is completely weather-proof, and drops straight into your bag.
The card itself is made from premium synthetic paper, which means it is 100% rain, mud, and tear-resistant. If it gets covered in muck on the hill, you can just rinse it under the tap when you get home. There is a mini compass clamped to the corner through a metal eyelet, which is ideal if the mist rolls in on the summit and you lose your bearings. You get high-contrast map checkpoints on the front, plus a QR code you can scan to pull more details.
It covers the full 10 km loop starting at Barley Car Park, taking you up The Stairs to the summit, and back down past the Ogden Reservoirs. On the back, there are turn-by-turn milestone distances, the grim history of the 1612 Pendle Witches, and a few tips and tricks. Just a quick heads-up, this is a handy pocket guide and a solid backup, but it is not a substitute for a proper OS map.
